At Watling Academy, we believe employer encounters and workplace experiences should make a difference, which is why we evaluate them and use feedback to improve future opportunities.
Following a second successful visit to Scania Group, where our Year 12 students took part in employability workshops, CV writing, interview preparation, and career pathway discussions, we asked students to tell us about their experience.
The results speak for themselves:
✅ 100% would recommend the programme to other students
✅ 100% rated the experience as Excellent
✅ 100% found the CV workshop useful or very useful
✅ 92% reported increased confidence in interviews
✅ 83% said the programme helped them develop employability skills
✅ 83% gained a better understanding of career opportunities at Scania
As Careers Leaders, gathering student feedback is vital. It helps us measure impact, understand what students value most, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that the opportunities we provide genuinely support young people in preparing for their futures.
Perhaps one of the most encouraging pieces of feedback was that several students wanted the session to be longer. When students leave wanting more, it’s a strong sign that the session has genuinely engaged them.
A huge thank you to everyone at Scania who made this opportunity possible and continues to invest in the next generation of talent.
Strong employer partnerships are not just about providing opportunities. They are about creating meaningful experiences that build confidence, raise aspirations, and help students understand the skills and mindset needed to succeed in the world of work.
