At Watling Academy, we believe that every student has the potential to lead in their own unique way. That’s why every new Year 12 student will take on a Leadership Role as part of their Sixth Form journey.
During Induction Day, you reflected on your strengths and identified areas where you’d like to grow as a leader. Based on this, you will select a leadership focus that aligns with your interests and aspirations. This could include roles such as:
- Reading Leader – supporting literacy in KS3 English lessons
- SEND Support Leader – working 1:1 with students who benefit from additional
support - Subject Ambassador – promoting your chosen subject to younger students
- Wellbeing Champion – supporting mental health and wellbeing initiatives
- Community Leader – organising charity events or volunteering projects
- Digital Leader – helping with online learning tools and digital literacy
Your leadership development will form part of your Sixth Form Appraisal Process, with
one of your personal targets focused on how you are growing in your chosen leadership
area.
